About Us

What is Kiwanis, and why was it created here?

Kiwanis International is a global community service organization focused on improving the lives of children. Founded in 1915, Kiwanis organizations work on various projects, including supporting overall community well-being.

The Fort Lee Kiwanis Club was founded to address local needs, provide service opportunities for members, and foster community and civic engagement in our area. Due to the lack of Kiwanis Clubs in Northern Jersey, many of Kiwanis’ student leadership programs, like Key Club, are unsponsored. Unsponsored clubs miss out on crucial support, resources, and guidance, which can limit their effectiveness and growth.   

By establishing a local club, we aim to fill this gap, support existing programs, and help expand opportunities for young leaders in the community.
